vision, issues, & values
Amy is dedicated to supporting and celebrating all residents of Ward 6. She envisions a Takoma Park where all can be safe, have their voice heard, and take advantage of the many services and opportunities in our city.
City services along New Hampshire Avenue: The eastern part of Takoma Park needs and deserves high quality city resources as much as those concentrated near Maple Avenue. The temporary library has reached folks who hadn’t used our library downtown. Our recreation center provides vital services but is small, dark, and outdated. All Takoma Park residents deserve better!
Purple Line: The Purple Line construction continues to negatively impact the lives of Ward 6 residents. Round the clock traffic. Blocked pedestrian access. Dangerous intersections. Amy knows she can’t perform miracles, but she is committed to pushing where she can and communicating with residents about what’s going on.
Public Safety: Some of our neighborhood roads have become shortcuts for drivers avoiding Purple Line construction. More cars, faster cars means less safe streets. Amy will work to implement the community’s suggestions to make our neighborhoods safer for all.
